News and Updates

Book Fair starts this week!

Our first book fair will be held from November 28th-December 4th in the RHElibrary. This is one of the kids' favorite events and a great way to get some holiday shopping done.

We still need to fill some volunteer slots in order to run the book fair. We will need to close the book fair during any slots when we don't have volunteer help. Please sign up to volunteer here

Book fair hours:

Before School:  Wednesday through Tuesday, 8-8:30  a.m. (Students must be accompanied by an adult)

After School:  Thursday, Friday, Monday, 3:30-4 p.m.;
Wednesday, 2-2:30 p.m. (Students must be accompanied by an adult)

Open late: Friday, 5-6:30 p.m. (Students must be accompanied by an adult)

During school: Students can buy books during their library time and recess times that we are open. For students in grades K–3,  if your child brings money, please have them put their money in a plastic bag with their name and teacher's name in the bag.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email Anne Machonis.

Bingo Night is Friday, November 30th!

It's here at last! Bingo night is THIS Friday, November 30th. This is one of our students' favorite events.
We'll have pizza, beverages, and baked goods available for purchase, tons of great prizes, and seriously amazing raffle items.

Bingo cards are $1 each and doors open at 5:45 p.m.

Don't forget:
Bingo Night is the perfect time to give to our gift card drive. For every $10 gift card you get a free bingo card!

Gift cards go directly back into the RHE community to ensure that all of our kids' holiday needs are met (more information below).

We still need need a number of parent volunteers for this event. Want to contribute, but also want to sit back, eat pizza, and enjoy the time with your kids? We totally get it! Sign up to come early and set up, or stay late and clean up.

Sign up here or, feel free to reach out to your Bingo night co-chairs: Kirsten Freiheit and Rachel Ingalls.

Giving Opportunity: RHE gift card drive needed!

Every year, RHE collects gift cards for families in need at our school. This is a great opportunity to involve your kids in giving, and it couldn't be easier! While you're out shopping for gifts and events this holiday season, simply purchase a $10 gift card for stores like Target, Fred Meyer, Walmart, or Costco.
You can give cards to your student's teacher, drop them by the main office, or bring them with you to bingo night! Our incredible school counselor, Soo Chin, will distribute your donated gift cards directly to families in need at Rose Hill Elementary School.

Questions? Please reach out to Colleen Rutherford.

Photographers needed! Help make our yearbook great.

Don't worry, you don't need to be a pro. We just need a few parents to help out by snapping photos at our events and sending them to our yearbook staff. Attending anyway? Then this could not be easier. Just sign up here and send your photos along when you are done.

Our annual appeal and movie night were a big success! Thank you!

We are still tallying the numbers, but we raised a good chunk of money to support our PTSA this year. In the meantime, we want to thank Nicole Bowser and Rachel Ingalls for all of their very hard work on this fundraiser.
Don't forget: many employers will match your donations. If you or your spouse work for Amazon, Boeing, Google, Microsoft, Wells Fargo, or Hayre McElroy, please be sure to submit your donation for matching.
