The Reflections Program is a National PTA and WSPTA cultural arts competition. The purpose is to provide an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works. Reflections is open to all grades. Entries are critiqued against others in the same grade division and judged on creative ability and interpretation of the theme.

2017-2018 Reflections Theme is "Within Reach"
Young artists get involved in Reflections through their local PTA or PTSA. A student may submit an entry in any of six arts areas.  Only original works of art are accepted. The six art areas are: Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts, Film/Video and Choreography/Dance. (Click on links for rules).

6. PARENTS: We need several volunteers to make this an enriching and exciting experience for your children. It takes many people and a lot of time to find judges, coordinate an artwork display, create flyers and posters, promote the program within the classrooms, provide treats for the reception, and help bring entries to the Resource Center!  Please volunteer! We appreciate anything you can do to make this program successful.

7. CONTACT Joann Smith (joannbalance@yahoo.com) or Mako Guest (mako@makoandsimon.com) with any questions. This is our final year, we need new program chairs for next year! Please let us know if you are interested.

Participants in Reflections will:

  • Have fun creating original works of art at home.
  • Have their entries judged by local art professionals.
  • Have their entries displayed at school.
