News and Updates

Shop or Volunteer at the Clothing Swap This Week!

We have multiple tables full of great items for kids and adults; come check them out in the art & science room today and October 17 from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Regardless of whether you donated, please feel free to come take whatever you like.

Also, we still need volunteers to keep everything organized and help shoppers locate items. If you're able to lend a hand, click here to volunteer. Thank you!

Love & Logic Parenting Series

Join RHE's Counselor, Soo Chin, for this six-part series to learn how to get more cooperation from your student, avoid frustration and arguments, build a closer relationship, and more! Space is limited, so please contact Soo Chin to reserve your spot now.

Classes begin Thursday, October 24, and run 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Childcare will be provided. Click here to view the flier for future dates and more info.

Thank You to All Who Attended Watch D.O.G.S.® Night

We had a great turnout and hope everyone who was able to make it enjoyed the pizza and magician! Did anyone ever figure out the YOT? Remember to complete your volunteer application (if you haven't already done so within the last two years) and sign up for a fulfilling and fun day at RHE! Please feel free to contact Mike Ford with any questions.

The Monster Mash Fall Family Fun Dance is Coming!

The RHE PTSA invites all our little monsters and their families (younger siblings are welcome) to join us in costume (or not if that's not your student's thing) on Friday, October 25, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the commons/gym for our always popular fall dance. We'll have a DJ spinning to help keep the kids dancing, and there will also be pizza, drinks, and baked goods available for purchase.

We ask that each student bring a grade-specific food donation for LWSF's Pantry Packs program to gain entry to the dance. Please see below for details.

Kindergarten: Top Ramen or Cup Noodles
1st Grade: Macaroni and Cheese
2nd Grade: Granola Bars
3rd Grade: Instant Oatmeal
4th Grade: Peanut Butter
5th Grade: Microwave Popcorn

Costume Guidelines: No real or pretend weapons, no masks, and nothing too scary or violent (let's try to avoid giving any younger siblings attending nightmares).

As always, we wouldn't be able to pull off events like this without volunteers. This is a fun one that will allow you to meet a lot of other parents, so please sign up here or complete and return the bottom portion of our flier. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to contact Mandy Lange. Thank you!

Calling All Student Artists!

Does your student love to create pictures, write stories, take photos, compose music, or perform dances? Then sign him or her up for the National PTA's Reflections program!

This year's theme is "Look Within," and there are six categories from which your artist may choose: visual arts (2D or 3D), literature, music, photography, dance choreography, and film production. Entries from all grades and abilities are welcome, but only original works will be accepted. Please see the flier sent home last week in your student's red folder for additional information. Rules and entry forms can be found in the school lobby or requested by emailing Olena BedenkoEntries are due no later than Friday, October 25.

As with all our programs and events, Reflections wouldn't be successful without help from many wonderful volunteers. Please sign up to volunteer here!

If you have questions, please contact Olena Bedenko or stop by the Reflections desk at RHE from 8:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. or 3:10 p.m. to 3:50 p.m. on Thursday, October 3, to speak with one of the Reflections co-chairs.
